Dawn Hicks

Dawn Hicks believes that in order to transform organizations, leaders must first start by looking within and transforming themselves. Dawn founded DSH Coaching and Consulting, LLC and partners with mission-driven leaders to discover their innate greatness and maximize their full potential. In coaching, Dawn uses the connection of the mind, body, and emotions to help individuals and organizations turn thoughts, deep needs, and challenges into possibilities and
actions that enable them to move closer towards their desired goals. Throughout her career, Dawn
has assumed various roles in the education and nonprofit sectors including School Leadership
Coach for UChicago Impact, Chief Program Officer for Umoja Student Development Corporation, and
Assistant Director of the University of Chicago Charter School’s North Kenwood Oakland campus. Dawn holds a Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago, a Master of Arts in Education Supervision and Administration from National Louis University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Michigan State University. Dawn is a Newfield Certified Ontological Coach. In addition to her passion for coaching, Dawn has a love for yoga.
